TADCASTER Albion's friendly with York City Academy tomorrow night has been called off following the Brewers' 1-1 Emirates FA Cup draw with Tow Law Town.

Tadcaster came from behind to earn a replay with Tow Law at the So-Trak Stadium after Cody Cromack's long-range strike cancelled out Ryan McKinnon's opener.

As a result, Albion will travel to County Durham on Tuesday evening (7.45pm) instead of facing York's youngsters.

Town made a bright start in the extra preliminary round tie - Tadcaster's season opener - with Andrei Ardelean forcing James Beaston into a vital early interception.

The home side failed to heed that early warning sign as, on 13 minutes, Ardelean headed the ball across the penalty area from a free kick and McKinnon had the simple task of finishing from close range.

John Deacey's side rallied through Sam Barker who forced Thomas Orton into a save from a 25-yard strike before his subsequent corner tested the goalkeeper's agility.

Midway through the half, Tadcaster should have drawn level when Mark Ferguson was tripped in the box by Kurt Seymour but his spot kick was wayward, sailing over the crossbar.

Ferguson was in the thick of the action once again when he clashed heads with Orton, forcing play to held up for five minutes.

A bloodied Orton played no further part in the tie, meaning that right-back Seymour filled in between the sticks.

Frustratingly for the home side it took a frustrating 50 minutes before they could meaningfully test the makeshift keeper.

In between a couple of scary moments for Tow Law from corners, Jack Johnson had the ball in the back of the visiting net, but was ruled offside shortly after the restart.

After 80 minutes, Albion eventually made their breakthrough. Barker found Josh Grant on the left flank and, instead of crossing, he laid the ball off to Cromack who unleashed a sublime 30-yard effort past Seymour.

Substitute Nathan Dyer had two late chances in the final five minutes before Cromack lifted over as he sought his brace and a winner.

Should Tadcaster overcome Tow Law on the road, they would go on to host Ashington on Saturday, August 20 (3pm) in the preliminary round.

The Brewers begin their Pitching In Northern Premier League east season at Sheffield FC on Saturday (3pm).

Elsewhere in the FA Cup, Pickering Town suffered an exit at the extra preliminary round stage after a 1-0 loss at Heaton Stannington. Louis Anderson scored the only goal of the game on a dozen minutes.

Pickering are back in Ebac Northern League division one action at home Whickham tomorrow (7.45pm), seeking to end a two-match losing start.

Meanwhile, Liam Flanagan's hat-trick inspired Selby Town to their first win of the Toolstation Northern Counties East League division one season, beating Parkgate 3-2.

Adam Daughtrey and Sean Dickinson scored in successive minutes a quarter of the way into the contest before Flanagan's treble, the striker bagging finishes in the 44th, 76th and 78th minute, the latter from the penalty spot.

Selby host Glasshoughton Welfare, who are point-less from their first two matches, tomorrow evening (7.45pm).
