YORK City have named Lenell John-Lewis as the captain for this season.
John-Lewis joined York permanently in the summer from Grimsby Town after playing a key role in City’s rise to the Vanarama National League.
The striker scored six goals in the Minstermen’s final seven matches, finding the back of the net in all of the play-off ties as promotion was won through the play-offs.
Sean Newton was York's captain at the beginning of last season but, following his loan move to Buxton, Matty Brown and Paddy McLaughlin went on to skipper City through the back end of last season.
