YORK City Knights pair Myles Harrison and Brad Ward have joined Betfred League One side Rochdale Hornets on an initial two-week loan.

Harrison and Ward come into contention for fourth-placed Rochdale's trip to fifth-placed Doncaster on Sunday (3pm).

Full-back Harrison has previously featured for the Hornets, coming off the bench in last year's 38-34 win at London Skolars, and has 10 York appearances to his name thus far.

Outside back Ward is making his first appearance away from the Knights, having scored three tries in six matches to date for James Ford's side.

“It will be a challenge for them but we’re working really hard to develop these young men," said head coach Ford.

“It will really help their development for next season and beyond. Gary (Thornton) has taken over at Rochdale and they’re going through a bit of an injury crisis and he asked for some support.

"I think everybody at the club remembers (former coach) Gary really fondly and we’re pleased to help him out.”
