YORK City Knights have signed Tom Inman on a permanent deal until the end of the season.

Inman joined York on a two-week loan deal from Betfred Super League side Warrington Wolves earlier this month and has now made the switch permanent.

The 19-year-old made his Knights and senior rugby league debut in Monday night’s 32-16 defeat to Batley Batley at the LNER Community Stadium, replacing Will Jubb at hooker for the final 20 minutes.

York head coach James Ford explained of the signing: “We’re trying to grow the team and the club over the next couple of years.

“Tom is at the right age, he’s got a good pedigree, we’re impressed with his attitude and we want to help him develop as a player.

“I thought for 19, he showed up pretty promisingly against Batley.”

The move bolsters Ford’s options at hooker following the mid-season departures of Kriss Brining, who retired in April, and Sam Davis, who returned to London Broncos on loan last month.
