KURT WILLOUGHBY has joined Chester following his release from York City.
Willoughby was a regular for York during last season's Vanarama National League North play-off success but was let go of by City in May.
The forward, who arrived from promotion rivals AFC Fylde during the off-season, scored 11 goals in all competitions for the Minstermen.
The former England 'C' international also had a brief loan spell at City in the 2019/20 season, scoring three times in four appearances.
Willoughby will remain in the National League North with Chester, who finished 16th last term and are heading into their first season with new manager Calum McIntyre at the helm, following the departure of ex-York boss Steve Watson in April.
