YORK City Knights have signed hooker Tom Inman on a two-week loan deal from Betfred Super League side Warrington Wolves.

Inman has yet to play for Warrington’s first-team although he did feature in the Wolves’ 21-man squad for last season’s clash with Salford Red Devils.

The former King Cross Park amateur did though play against Salford during pre-season.

The 19-year-old’s arrival bolsters York’s options at hooker, where Will Jubb is the only remaining out-and-out nine following Kriss Brining’s retirement and Sam Davis’ loan return to London Broncos

Knights head coach James Ford said: “Tom is a talented young hooker with an exceptional desire to succeed.

“In my opinion, it’s a big step up from Super League reserves but Tom is really excited to take on that first challenge.

“He’s been training with Warrington’s first team squad but unfortunately he’s found himself behind some world class hookers.

“Not everyone’s journey in the game is the same and I’m looking forward to getting to know Tom and helping him on his journey.”

Inman could make his York debut on Sunday when the Knights host Barrow Raiders at the LNER Community Stadium (3pm).

Ford’s third-placed side will be seeking to put further distance between themselves and fellow play-off rivals Barrow, who are currently sixth in the table and seven points adrift of York.

The Knights will also be eyeing up a double over the Cumbrian club, having won the last meeting between the two sides 30-18 in early May at Craven Park.
