YORK City Knights forward Pauli Pauli has been named in the Rugby League World magazine’s Betfred Championship team of the month for June.

Pauli was York’s stand-out player during their three wins over Sheffield Eagles (14-34), London Broncos (36-34) and Widnes Vikings (14-16) - the magazine’s assessed time period.

The prop marked his return from suspension by scoring his first York try from a Liam Harris grubber kick at Sheffield’s Olympic Legacy Park minutes after producing a fine diving offload assist for Ronan Dixon.

The former NRL star backed that up with a barraging run through the London defence before setting up Matty Marsh at the LNER Community Stadium days later.

As well as proving a scoring and assisting threat, Pauli maintained his trademark ability to carry the ball in hard during all three of the aforementioned matches, aiding the Knights’ current four-match winning streak, which sees them sit third in the table, only a point behind second-placed Featherstone.

The magazine’s Championship team of the month also includes representatives from Bradford Bulls (Brandon Pickersgill and Ryan Millar), Leigh Centurions (Blake Ferguson and Edwin Ipape), Featherstone (Joey Leilua and Ryley Jacks), Barrow Raiders (Matthew Costello, Jarrod Sammut and Dan Toal), Halifax Panthers (Dan Murray and Ed Barber) and Batley Bulldogs (Lucas Walshaw).

Leigh winger Ferguson won the division’s player of the month award.

Elsewhere, York City Knights Ladies had three players feature in the Betfred Women’s Super League team of the month, which covered the side’s 24-10 victory over former champions Leeds Rhinos.

York’s Lacey Owen, Grace Field and Sinead Peach were named in the 13.

The team also includes player-of-the-month Michelle Davis (Warrington Wolves), Sam Norman (Barrow Raiders), Chloe Billington (Featherstone Rovers), Becky Greenfield (Wigan Warriors), Hannah Donald (Bradford Bulls), Cara Cookland (Bradford), Dannielle Anderson (Leeds Rhinos), Amy Boardman (Bradford), Vanessa Temple (Barrow), Zoe Hornby (Leeds).
