FORMER Barnsley, Charlton and Oldham midfielder Neil Redfearn has been appointed as York City's new youth-team coach.
Redfearn was part of the Barnsley side that reached the Premier League in 1997 when Colin Walker was on the Oakwell coaching staff.
He started this season as Northwich manager and his arrival at KitKat Crescent will mean previous head of youth Eric Winstanley will now work permanently as Walker's assistant, while overseeing all coaching at the club.
