YORK City have confirmed that they will make the trip to Macclesfield FC in pre-season.
York will visit the phoenix club of the former Macclesfield Town, who dissolved less than two years ago, on Saturday, July 23 (3pm).
The friendly at the Leasing.com Stadium, better known as Moss Rose, is the second pre-season match announced by City, following on from the home clash with Sky Bet Championship club Middlebrough at the LNER Community Stadium on Friday, July 8 (7pm).
In their sole season since reformation, Macclesfield won the North West Counties League premier division by a 15-point margin.
While York prepare for a return to the Vanarama National League, the Silkmen are readying themselves for the Pitching In Northern Premier League west, the eighth tier of English football.
The July friendly sees City manager John Askey - who played and managed a combined 973 times at Macclesfield - face his former club.
York hope to have around six friendlies before the new season begins in early August.
