YORK City loanee Mitch Hancox has been named on Hereford's released list following the end of their 2021/22 season.

Hancox joined York on loan in October on a one-month deal and later saw the switch extended to the end of the season.

Initially brought in under former boss Steve Watson, Hancox has flourished under the management of John Askey, who moved the 28-year-old from left-back into central midfield.

Hereford's release of Hancox potentially opens up a permanent move for the ex-Birmingham City man to the Minstermen.

"We’d like to place on record our thanks to each and every player for their efforts during the 2021/22 season and wish them well for the future," said the Hereford statement.
