LEVI EDWARDS has dropped out of the York City Knights squad that will visit Barrow Raiders tomorrow night (7.45pm).
There had been talk that Edwards could return from his loan spell at York to parent club Leeds Rhinos ahead of the Betfred Super League club’s clash with Hull KR on Friday night.
However, the Rhinos did not need the services of Edwards in their 12-0 win at Headingley and the teenager seemed set to stay at York.
Leeds have yet to officially confirm Edwards’ recall however he has not been selected in York’s 21-man squad for the Betfred Championship trip to Barrow.
In his place comes winger Will Oakes, who is back after a groin injury, who looks set for a return in the backs, with Jacob Ogden likely moving back to centre.
The other change to the Knights’ squad from that which beat Whitehaven last time out sees fit-again half-back Jamie Ellis included at the expense of young Heworth trialist prop forward Ben Barnard.
York squad: Marsh, Brown, Glover, Ogden, Oakes, O’Hagan, Ellis, Matongo, Jubb, Teanby, Clarkson, Pauli, Thompson, Davis, Dixon, Stock, Kirmond, Harris, Harrison, Towse, Porter.
