FORMER York City manager Steve Watson will leave his current post at Chester at the end of the season.
The decision was confirmed in an official statement released on the club website.
Part of the statement read: “We thank Steve for his contribution, professionalism and the progress he has made over the past five months, and wish him every success in his future career.”
Watson will depart the club after their final game of the season against Brackley Town.
Watson’s first game in charge of Chester was a 3-1 victory over AFC Telford on Boxing Day in the Vanarama National League North.
Since then, he has won just five more games for the club, losing 11 and drawing five.
The manager spent nearly three years at York City, his tenure seeing him win a National League North Manager of the Month award in October 2021.
The next month, he left the club with John Askey taking his place.
