KRISS BRINING and Brad Ward have joined Will Oakes and Jamie Ellis on the York City Knights injury list.

Brining failed a head injury assessment in York's 44-18 victory at Workington Town and, like Ward, misses out through concussion.

Hooker Brining is set to be available for next weekend's match with Whitehaven, while Ward, given that he is just 18, will sit out for three weeks.

Oakes and Ellis missed the trip to Workington and are also sidelined for Saturday's home clash with Newcastle Thunder (6pm).

The club are sending Oakes for a scan on his groin problem while Ellis is targeting a return for the trip to Barrow Raiders.

The positive news for the Knights on the injury front is that regarding prop Ronan Dixon who is available again, having been absent from the squad that faced Workington.

Head coach James Ford has meanwhile confirmed that hooker Sam Davis will feature against the Thunder at the LNER Community Stadium.

The off-season recruit from London Broncos scored two tries for Leeds Rhinos Reserves, York's dual registration partner, against Hull KR last week and is set to start from the bench on Saturday.

York squad: Marsh, Brown, Glover, Ogden, Oakes, O'Hagan, Matongo, Jubb, Teanby, Clarkson, Pauli, Thompson, Davis, Dixon, Stock, Kirmond, Harris, Harrison, Towse, Edwards, Porter.
