BOOTHAM Ladies Futsal Club are searching for a new goalkeeper after a long-term injury to their first-choice shot-stopper.

Lauryn Zareba-Gilbank sustained a serious ankle injury in Bootham's most recent match with Cheshire and will be out of action for six months.

Head coach Chris Collins said: "We knew Lauryn was carrying an injury, but we only found out this week how serious it was.

"She was superb in the match and will be a big miss.

"We are now on the lookout for anyone who can step in and help us out, even for just one game."

Zareba-Gilbank sustained the injury in Bootham's 19-0 defeat to Cheshire, the club's first ever encounter in the FA Futsal Women’s Super Series North.

Bootham had 10 debutants at this level in their side while Cheshire's side possessed several experienced players.

Collins said: "It was a good education for our players to see the standard this league has. We know this is a long journey and this was the first step."

Anyone interested in joining Bootham, even those without prior Futsal experience, are asked to contact Collins on 07720 441953 or to email info@boothamfutsalclub.co.uk
