YORK City chairman Jason McGill will be subsidising fans' coach travel to the FA Trophy quarter-final tie at Dagenham & Redbridge.

The journey to and from Dagenham on March 12 - supplied by York Pullman - will cost just £15 for adults, down from the originally quoted £50.

McGill hopes the move will ease travel on a day when disruption is expected on the train lines to thank City fans for their support this season and get John Askey's side plenty of backing.

McGill said: “I have looked at the prices for both travel and entry to our quarter-final at Dagenham & Redbridge and have made the decision to step in and make the trip a little bit easier for York City fans.

“There is also disruption on the East Coast Mainline which will make it tough for supporters to travel by train. Using our official travel partners York Pullman, supporters will be able to depart from York and be taken straight to Dagenham.

“We need all the support we can get in a tough game on the road to Wembley and I am hoping we can bring a large away support to back the lads.

“Thank you for your continued support. Let’s make it a day to remember.”

To book on to a supporters' coach, or for more information, phone Joanne from York Pullman on 01904630444.

Under-16s cost £10. A maximum of two U16s can travel with one paying adult.

Executive coach travel departure points are from the LNER Community Stadium, York Memorial Gardens (city centre) and Acomb (Front Street). Departure time is 8:30am, with comfort breaks both ways.

Pullman have asked supporters to arrive 15 minutes early for a timely departure.

Match ticket details will be mutually agreed and announced by the Daggers in due course, the club says.
