WITH two wins, two draws and two defeats for their last six games, Bradford Park Avenue’s form is 10th best in National League North.

The eight points they have accrued has them a point better off over that recent sextet than York City, who are sitting 14th in the form table (as well as the current table) with seven points and a -4 goal difference.

After almost two weeks out of action around the New Year - following the postponed Boxing Day meeting with York - Mark Bower’s men came right into form when they beat Steve Watson’s Chester 1-0 at the Horsfall Stadium.

This was followed by defeats to table-toppers Gateshead (4-2 at home) and play-off contenders Southport (1-0 away) before a last-gasp 2-1 home win over Kettering Town on Saturday.

Simon Richman smashed in his second league goal of the season to open the scoring just before half-time but saw red in the 74th minute half after picking up two yellow cards inside five minutes of each other.

Bradford coach Ryan Toulson was shown a red card shortly after and with minutes to go to the full-time whistle, Kettering equalised through Decarry Sheriff.

But the hosts were not done and in the third minute of stoppage time, Bradford found the 93rd-minute winner through Luke Rawson to rise to 18th in the table.

New signings from York Sam Fielding and Harrison Hopper both played 90 minutes and made quite the impression on boss Bower.

“I’m really pleased with how they’ve started - they’ve not even trained with the lads yet,” Bower said.

“They just got thrown in and I thought both were really, really good for us, especially when we went down to 10 and we had two young lads playing against three in midfield.

“I’m really pleased with that.”
