FORMER York City striker Ryan Edmondson has joined Port Vale on loan until the end of the season.

Edmondson heads to the Sky Bet League Two club in a fourth loan spell away from parent club Leeds United.

The Harrogate-born forward joined Leeds from York, after progressing through the Minstermen’s academy, in 2017 but has since made just two competitive appearances for the Whites, the last of which came in September 2018.

Edmondson has had temporary stints at Aberdeen, Northampton Town and Fleetwood Town, the last of which took place during the first half of this current campaign.

During 17 matches at Fleetwood, the 20-year-old scored just two goals, both of those coming in the EFL Trophy.

Edmondson now heads to Port Vale, with the Stoke-on-Trent club sixth in League Two at present, four points behind the automatic promotion places and with a two-point cushion inside the play-offs.
