YORK City have announced a sponsorship deal for the LNER Community Stadium's South Stand, which will feature a tribute to David Longhurst.

The Minstermen have sealed a long-term agreement with Nfinnerty Electrical & Plumbing and will rename the South Stand the Nfinnerty Stand, with red and blue branding adorning the rear sections.

The York-based, family-run business has included a tribute to David Longhurst in the artwork as well as a ‘We are York’ section.

Nfinnerty Electrical's director Neil Finnerty has more than 30 years’ experience installing, maintaining and upgrading electrical infrastructure in the agricultural, domestic and commercial sectors.

Finnerty said: “Nfinnerty are proud to be able to sponsor York City FC. The history and values of the city are very much values we share. We Are York."

City's commercial manager Liam McGuinness said: “We are delighted to have Neil on board with us, not only as a club sponsor but as a supporter of the club.

“The red and blue banners at the back of the stand will give the stadium a bit more life and more importantly the tribute to the late David Longhurst is bound to resonate with our fans.”
