ON-LOAN York City striker Luke Jones got his first goal for Pickering Town on Monday night.

Unfortunately for the 19-year-old, it came during a 5-2 drubbing at the hands of Yorkshire rivals Bridlington Town.

After signing on a short-term deal earlier this month, Jones has made two substitute appearances for the Pikes across four games thus far, getting around 50 minutes’ football.

The result leaves Pickering hanging precipitously around the Northern Premier League east division relegation zone, just one point above bottom side Sheffield, who have played three games fewer.

Meanwhile, both Archie Whitfield and Reon Potts are nearing the end of their loans to Ossett United, who originally took the pair on until January.

Midfielder Whitfield was on from the start as Ossett came from behind to win 3-2 at Tadcaster Albion on Monday after having gone into the break a goal to the good.
