FORMER York City boss Steve Watson has taken charge of the Minstermen's National League North rivals Chester.
Watson - who managed Gateshead in the National League before joining City in 2019 - left York last month following a fraught goalless draw at Curzon Ashton.
Chester have been without a manager since the departure of co-managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley on November 24, 11 days after York parted company with Watson.
Relieving interim manager Danny Livesey of his duties, Watson joins a side who sit 16th in the table and will take charge of Chester's Boxing Day trip to basement side AFC Telford United.
Chester chairman Andy Morris said: “It was important that we appointed a manager who knew the league in terms of opposition and players so that he could have an immediate impact and push us on to finish in the highest possible position in the table."
