YORK RUFC were handed a walkover win and five points after opponents Northwich were unable to field a team.

The pre-match lunch at Clifton Park planned for the game still went ahead despite the late cancellation and raised valuable funds for the club.

As a result of the added points, York now sit sixth in the North Premier table.

The North Yorkshire will visit 10th-placed Lymm RUFC this weekend.

Meanwhile Northwich remain bottom of the division and have not won any of their 11 games this season, conceding 763 points and scoring 91 points in the process.

In the North One East, Malton & Norton were beaten 33-21 at fourth-placed Ilkley.

Will Hughes and Ali Fothergill were Malton’s try-scorers, with Shane Poole adding three penalties and one conversion from the boot.

Malt return to The Gannock to host Cleckheaton, who are three places above them in fifth.

Seven points separate the two clubs, though Malton have a match in hand on the West Yorkshire club.

Elsewhere in the division, Pocklington lost 30-10 at Moortown.

Pocklington moved ahead after just five minutes when Christian Pollock kicked an angled penalty following a high tackle on Albert Onelei.

However, a Pocklington handling error from the restart handed Moortown good field position, and they sent a subsequent penalty to the corner for a catch and drive try.

And more Moortown pressure saw them kick a straightforward penalty goal to increase their lead.

Before half time, Pock winger Rob Boddy scored an interception try, with Pollock converting.

Moortown came out firing on the restart and broke through in midfield then backed up for a try in the corner to edge back ahead.

Things then went from bad to worse for Pocklington as a needless yellow card reduced them to 14 men.

Moortown took full advantage of their numerical advantage to cross for two more tries in quick succession.

A late penalty sealed Moortown’s victory, a win which sees them overtake Pocklington.

Leodiensian edged past Selby RUFC in the Yorkshire One after sealing a narrow 11-10 victory.

York RI and Nestle Rowntree both had free weekends from action in the Yorkshire Four North/West.
