ONLY one game went ahead across the top two divisions in York Minster Engineering League, in which Pocklington Town staged a comeback to beat Stamford Bridge 3-2.

The local football fixture schedule was decimated by the wild weather at the weekend, though a number of games lower down the ladder did manage to survive the downpours and gale-force winds.

In the division one meeting at Pocklington, Bridge took an early lead, and again created a 2-1 advantage after Adam Falkingham had levelled.

But a Pock revival saw the hosts emerge from the 90 minutes with the three points.

Tom Knowles and Chris Dempsey struck the other goals for Town, who played the final portion of the game with 10 men after Falkingham was dismissed.

Pollington moved up to second in division two following an 8-1 demolition of bottom side Ebor Wanderers.

Goals from Jack Stocks (2), Brian Robertson (3), Mark Baggaley (2) and Oliver Brennan fired the home team to victory.

Cliffe also managed a figure of eight at home to Heslington, defeating their visitors 8-2.

Tom Hannan (2), Jacob Harrison-Green and Jack Spofforth struck for Fulford in their 4-2 division three success at Barmby Moor.

The win sees Fulford move up to fourth spot in the table.

Hensall Hawks turned the division four form book on its head with a 7-1 defeat of fourth-placed Selby Olympia.

The victory was Hawks' first win of the season.

Tockwith moved off the bottom of Reserve 'A' with a 3-2 success at Pocklington Town.

Easingwold Town did likewise in Reserve 'B', gaining a 4-1 success over Tadcaster Magnets, for whom Tom Broadbent netted a consolation.

Darren Brandon and Jordan Elliott fired Stamford Bridge to a 2-0 triumph at Fulford in the same division.

Reserve 'C' leaders York RI chalked up a magnificent seven victories from seven games with a 2-0 defeat of Selby Olympia.

A Niall Scott strike and an own goal saw them leave Selby with the points.

Walnut Tree beat Heslington 7-0.
