HAXBY Town moved up to second place in the Fastpack Ltd York Sunday Morning League following their 4-1 defeat of Bishopthorpe.

Adam Chaplin got a brace in the division one clash, with Kris Robertshaw and Dan Clipston contributing and goal each.

The win means that Haxby are three points behind leaders Atlanta, level on the number of games played.

Malt Shovel continued their steady climb up the league table with a 6-2 defeat of Pollington.

Sam Wilson and Mike Beeby netted for the visitors with Dec Brittland (3), Luke Pearse and Tommy Butterfield finding the net for Shovel.

An own goal completed the hosts' haul.

Iancu Vasile kept up his impressive strike rate for division two table-toppers FC Dracula with four goals in their emphatic 8-0 success over promotion rivals York Medics.

Vasile Sandu also netted a hat-trick with Vasile Bolmandar also getting in on the act with a single strike.

A late goal from Matthew Harrison saw Rawcliffe United edge out Clock House 5-4.

Zak Fletcher (2), Luke Woodall and Robbie Moffat were also on target for the hosts.

Sam Clayton, Danny Traynor and Lawrence Burrows fired Eggborough to a 3-2 victory over Strensall Tigers.

Lewis Inkster hit a brace of goals for the away side.

Heworth Inn progressed in the York Sunday League Junior Trophy after defeating FC Pollington 3-0.

Richard Bedingham netted twice with Finlay Thompson also on the scoresheet.

Burton Leonard also advanced after a titanic 13-goal tussle with Selby Olympia.

The home side eventually ended up winning 7-6.
