CITY of York Hockey Club Men I continued their good recent form with a 1-1 home draw against Yorkshire & North East League high-fliers Lindum I.

Felix Evans scored his first goal of the season for City, who are sixth in the premier division with 10 points from their last four games.

The game started with a high intensity and plenty of penalty corners for each side, though neither was able to capitalise - in part, thanks to some excellent goalkeeping from both shot-stoppers.

Just before the hour mark, York broke the deadlock. From a turnover deep inside the York half, Alex Cockram broke down the right wing to base line and, following a few hard challenges, got the ball to Evans waiting free on the opposite side of the 'D' to flick in.

Lindum took a more direct approach and an aerial into the 'D' with four minutes to go yielded the equaliser.

Doubles for Jack Fletcher and Dan Tompkins could not prevent City Men II from losing 6-4 at University of Hull in division one Yorkshire.

City Men III sit fourth from bottom in the same division after losing 7-1 at home to Leeds Adel II.

Mark Moisley scored as division two Yorkshire strugglers City Men IV lost 3-1 at Leeds V.
