THE National League have received an additional £5m from the Premier League as part of its Covid Impact Funding.
The money will assist "all our member clubs," including York City, according to the National League.
The non-league administrator have said the funding will be received over the next four seasons.
£2m will be taken this season in recognition of the extra pressure on clubs due to the pandemic with an additional £1m for each of the following three seasons.
In regards to the split, £2m will be divided evenly between Step One and Step Two, each receiving 50 per cent, though how much each club will receive is yet to be announced.
National League chairman Jack Pearce said: “The National League has been in regular discussion with the Premier League and other football organisations to discuss funding throughout the game.
"This latest announcement is brilliant news for National League clubs for which we, as a competition, are extremely grateful."
