YORK Minster Engineering League division four leaders Sporting Knavesmire retained their lead at the top after an 8-1 rout over Marton Abbey, writes Graham Ireton.

Jack Stokell (4), Sam Bibby (3) and Louis Cade all found the net Knavesmire. Daniel Cooper was on target for Abbey in the game.

Hamilton Panthers are the only club keeping pace with Knavesmire, having won all of their games, though having played two less than Sporting.

Jamie Thornton (2), Thomas Walsh (2), Xavier Martin and Lloyd Crawford all sent the ball home in their 6-2 defeat of LNER Builders. Ashley Macpherson and Kai Shorrocks replied.

Richard Tinson scored for Bishop Wilton in their 4-1 home loss to Selby Olympia.

York RI put six past Hensall Hawks without reply. Jack Kelly (2), Jack Hancock, Declan Hick, James Fletcher and Tyler Jones netted.

Matthew Pearse scored a hat-trick for Thorpe United but ended up on the losing team in a 5-4 loss at Poppleton United.

Jason Nattrass and Sam Parkinson fired Pocklington Town to a 2-0 victory over Strensall Tigers.

In Reserve 'B', Rawcliffe triumphed 6-1 over Osbaldwick. John Moore helped himself to a treble and was ably supported by Jarrad Benson, Charlie Jones and Adam Wilson.

Haxby Town remain just three points adrift of the pacesetters following their 3-0 win at Bishopthorpe White Rose. Rowan Todd (2) and Ewan Kilgour struck the goals.

Robin Bedford bagged a brace for Copmanthorpe as they gained a 5-2 success at home to Easingwold Town. Eric Batternay, Alex Carter and James Fedyszyn collected the other Copmanthorpe goals.

York RI scrapped out a 3-2 win over Garforth LG. Jack Emmett and Niall Scott (2) ensured the hosts took the points.
