YORK City will host Blyth Spartans in the second round proper of the FA Trophy next weekend.

York will enter the competition on Saturday, November 27 along with the rest of the clubs in Step 2 in the Vanarama National League North and Vanarama National League South divisions.

The cup tie at the LNER Community Stadium will be a replay of the National League North fixture played between the two sides late last month.

In what would prove to be the final win that York secured under former manager Steve Watson, the Minstermen eased to a 4-0 victory, with Paddy McLaughlin, Matty Brown, Mackenzie Heaney and Kurt Willoughby all on the scoresheet.

City will again head into the match as strong favourites given Blyth’s poor recent form.

The Spartans are currently on a run of eight straight defeats in all competitions.

They sit bottom of National League North, with just nine points from 13 league matches, having scored nine goals and conceded 26 times during that time.

York will receive £3,750 in prize money if they progress and £1,000, should they lose.

The club have announced a reduced set of ticket prices for the game. Adults tickets are £8, concessions are £6, under-19s and students are £4, under-12s are £3 and under-5s are free.

In total, there are nine all-Vanarama National League North ties that will take place in the second round.
