POLLINGTON Predators pulled off an upset in division one of the Fastpack Ltd York Sunday Morning League, defeating Bishopthorpe 7-3, writes Graham Ireton.

Seven different scorers collected the home side’s haul with Sam Wilson, Robert Tate, Mike Beeby, Mark Baggeley, Louis Ellin, Oliver Brennan and Ryan Garbett all getting in on the act.

The victory moves Pollington five points clear of bottom club Bramham.

Atlanta kept their unbeaten record following a hard-fought win at Haxby Town. Adam Chaplin had scored for the hosts in the first half but his effort was matched by a Daniel Paterson strike.

Paterson hit two more in the second period to secure a 3-1 win for the league leaders.

Wigginton Grasshoppers and Thorpe United Red met for the third time in five weeks and again it was Grasshoppers who were successful.

Lennon Grayson set the hosts on their way before a Jamie Willstrop penalty doubled the scoring.

George Brown made it 3-1 before two sweet strikes from Neale Holmes and Liam Robertson rounded off a 5-0 success.

Burton Leonard moved up to fourth place in division two with an 8-4 defeat of Heworth Inn, who were reduced to 10 men via a late red card.

Kieran Harris (2), Leigh Hooson and Richard Bedingham found the target for Heworth.

Thorpe United Blue edged a seven-goal thriller with Eggborough to lift themselves off the bottom of division two.

Leo Townsley, Glen Littlewood, Ryan Butcher and Jay Kelsey fired the home side to success, with Jay Adamson, Sam Clayton and Mike Taylor replying for Eggborough.

Vlad Diaconescu scored from the penalty spot for FC Dracula as they played out a 2-2 draw in the league cup at Selby Olympia.

Iancu Vasile also netted for the visitors, who won the shoot-out 5-3.
