YORK City Knights have announced that general manager Neil Gulliver has been appointed as a director of the club.

Gulliver joined York in 2014 and has served as the club's Foundation manager before working as the general manager for the past three-and-a-half-years.

He will remain in post as general manager while also having a seat on the club's board.

“The expansion of the club’s board is vital to our continued growth and, over the last few years, it’s been clear that Neil lives and breathes rugby league and the Knights," chairman Jon Flatman said.

“His dedication to the club is second to none and, being a widely respected member of the local community and beyond, I’m proud to be able to appoint him to the board and that this opportunity has presented itself.

“His leadership of the club off the field is outstanding and I look forward to continuing to work closely with him moving forward.”

Gulliver added: “I’m really proud to have been appointed as a director of the Knights. It’s a pleasure leading the team off the field and this is a club full of good people doing good things.”
