CITY of York Hockey Club Men I got back to winning ways with a 4-0 victory at Durham University III.

Jamie Clarke and Alex Cockram goals sent City into the break two goals up before second-half goals from Jack Allerton and Dan Ellwood put the gloss on the result.

It was a welcome win for York, who had lost three of their previous four games in the Yorkshire & North East League premier division.

York sit ninth of 13 teams.

City Men II remain winless since the end of September in division one Yorkshire following a 4-2 home defeat to Lindum II. Jack Fletcher and Jack Bass were on target for second-from-bottom York.

There was no game for table-mates City Men III, whose scheduled trip to Leeds IV has gone down as a 3-0 win to the home side.

Russ Bowry’s goal earned City Men IV a 1-1 home draw with Sheffield University Bankers III. York are eighth in division two Yorkshire.

George Trowsdale scored a hat-trick for City Men V as they twice came from behind to beat visitors Wakefield IV 5-2. John Barrett and John Gilbert got the other goals to lift York to third in division one moor & dale.

There were braces for Henry Cadogan, Harvey Ake and James Hogg as City Men VI beat City Men VII 7-0 in division two moor & dale. Josh Perryman hit the other.

City Men IX’s game at Thirsk II in division one moor was postponed due to Covid absentees.

Aire Valley were unable to raise a team to face City Men X in Men’s Development north division.

City of York Ladies I lost 4-0 at home to Yorkshire & North East Women’s League premier division leaders Harrogate.

The hosts started slowly and were soon two goals behind. York regrouped but conceded another before the break.

A better second half saw York repel a good number of Harrogate attacks and short corners after letting in a fourth.

York are eighth of 12 teams.

City Ladies II notched a second win of term with a 1-0 victory at Leeds Adel II in division one Yorkshire. Vicky Skilton scored the only goal of the game for ninth-placed York.

City Ladies III’s division one moor & dale meeting with Wakefield Wanderers I was called off.

City Ladies IV could not complete their comeback at Spen Valley I in division two moor & dale. Rachel Hildreth pulled one back in the second half as sixth-placed York lost 2-1.

Holly Clayden’s strike was enough to earn City Ladies V a division one moor point in a 1-1 draw at home to Thirsk III, who equalised late on. City are sixth but only five points off the top.

Table-mates City Ladies VI lost 3-0 at Harrogate V. With a side containing some newcomers, York were not expecting an easy trip, and so it proved.

City Ladies VII have just three points after six games in the same division. They were comprehensively beaten 13-0 by an experienced Tadcaster Magnets II outfit.

Acomb Hockey Club Men I drew 4-4 at home to Slazenger II in Yorkshire & North East division two moor & dale.

The Tangerines sit sixth in the division after recovering from the previous round's defeat - their only loss in four games.

Acomb II lost 2-1 to cross-city rivals City of York Men VIII in division one moor.

City started brightly but Acomb came back strongly and went in at the break 1-0 up.

York were better in the second half and put Acomb under a lot of pressure.

Dave Lancaster equalised with a reverse flick and Mitch Moisely flicked into the top corner to secure a 2-1 win for the hosts, who are three points clear at the top of the table.

Acomb are third, with seven points to York's 12.

In Yorkshire & North East Women's League division two moor & dale, Acomb Ladies lost 7-4 at University of Leeds III.

The Tangerines are one point off the foot of the table.
