YORK City have brought in left-back Mitch Hancox on a one-month loan from fellow Vanarama National League North side Hereford.

York have been without a recognised left-back for much of the season, a term in which there have been selection issues throughout the defence.

First-choice left-back Scott Barrow has yet to feature this season after suffering an Achilles injury in the summer while ex-loanee Jaden Charles returned to Mansfield Town last month.

Having seen Michael Duckworth and Paddy McLaughlin since deputise there, manager Steve Watson finally has an out-and-out option for the role.

Hancox, 27, began his career at Birmingham City, for whom he played for 40 times, and had spells at Crawley, Macclesfield, MK Dons, Solihull Moors and Harrogate Town before his summer move to Hereford.

He has previously worked with Watson at Birmingham and Macclesfield.

Hancox won the 2017/18 National League title with the latter.
