YORK City Ladies are still top of the North East Regional Women’s League premier division after thrashing Sunderland West End 6-0.
York are the only side in the division yet to suffer a league defeat, having picked up four wins and a draw from their first five matches.
As a result, the table-toppers now have a three-point lead at the summit.
City made a perfect start to the game by scoring three times inside the first quarter of an hour.
Shannon Durkin finished off a counter attack to put the hosts ahead before a double from Sophie Tinson - flicking home a header and then completing a great team move.
After the leaders grabbed a fourth, Jo Symington then got her name on the scoresheet.
Late on, Tinson completed her treble by crashing an effort in off the frame of the goal.
