SAVANNAH ANDRADE has been called up to the England Women National Performance Squad following an impressive debut season at York City Knights Ladies.

Andrade joined York from Bradford Bulls in May and made a quick impression for the resurgent Knights, who reached the Betfred Women's Challenge Cup and the Betfred Women's Super League play-off semi-finals.

England head coach Craig Richards said: “We spoke with Savannah earlier in the season and she has taken on board our feedback and worked hard on her game which is evident following some really strong performances for York.

“She has the ability to score tries from anywhere on the field and offers us another great option out wide as we prepare for our fixture against France."

Andrade's York team-mates Kelsey Gentles, Grace Field and Olivia Wood have also been included in the squad, who will meet for two training sessions either side of next week's Women's Super League Grand Final.
