MANAGER Paul Quinn has left Tadcaster Albion to join Sky Bet Championship outfit Sheffield United.

Quinn took charge of Tadcaster in November 2019 following Curtis Woodhouse's departure to Gainsborough Trinity but saw his time at the Brewers disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.

In a club statement, Tadcaster were fully understanding of Quinn's move to the English Football League giants.

"Paul has worked tirelessly since joining us, not only to put out the best team possible, but has also introduced an infrastructure into the team management which has put us on a par with clubs much bigger than ourselves," they said.

"We are sad to say goodbye to Paul but thank him for all he has done for Tadcaster Albion and wish him every success in the future."

Quinn himself said: “I want to thank all the players, staff, committee and supporters for everything over the last couple of years.

"I am proud to have managed the club and look forward to watching Tadcaster develop and progress.”

Tadcaster have confirmed that assistant manager Steve Waide will take interim charge of the team until further notice.
