In-form Matthew Walker (108 not not) hit 12 maximums as Dunnington bowlers toiled in the heat.

Despite a brisk knock from Harry Paver (38), visitors Dunnington had no reply and slipped to their seventh defeat of the season.

Third-placed Stockton & Hopgrove (151) won at Melbourne (130-8) despite suffering an uncharacteristic top-order collapse.

Scott Coupland (3-17) removed both openers cheaply before Tom Williams (54) and Jamie Kerrison (27) rebuilt the visitors' innings.

A Rathuayake (3-25) and Jamie Kerrison (3-30) then helped ensure the hosts fell short.

Leaders Alliance (151-3) had a comfortable win at Stamford Bridge (150-8), who were indebted to an eighth-wicket partnership between Will Leonard (37no) and James Docwra (30no) to rescue their innings after slumping to 94-8.

Matthew Mellor (3-28) led the way before the visitors secured the points with Richard Marshall (66no) among the runs again.

Thixendale (95-9) won a thriller at home to Yapham (94). Will Megginson (4-28) ripped through the visitors' top order, Robert Boddy (25) and Ed Hutchinson (23no) providing the only resistance.

Home openers Jonty Gillingham (34) and Adrian Brader (20) started the reply strongly before the Robert Boddy (6-19) turned matters on their head. Skipper Simon Walmgate (25no) rescued the situation.

Bottom side South Cave & Brant-ingham (197) fell short in a spirited run chase at Ovington (213-9).

Matthew Roberts (88) and Harry Buckley (61) put the hosts in command while the visitors could not build on a strong start from Olivier Pierce (48) and Ben Scorah (57). Jack Wilson took 3-50, Simon Rogerson 3-48 and Charlie Buckley 3-34.

Sam Dunn (209no) provided the stand-out performance of the day as Hirst Courtney extended their lead at the top of division two as challengers Burn and Ben Johnson both fell to defeats.

Dunn’s innings off just 99 balls included a staggering 20 sixes as Hirst Courtney (283-3) made light work of the Heworth (176-5) bowling.

Jacob Inkster (80no) and Alistair Simpson (27no) provided some benefits for Heworth in reply.

Hemingbrough (256-8) also piled on the runs at Burn (113) as Sachin Madhas (90), Steve Watson (65) and Adul Moiz (55) enjoyed their times at the crease.

Granville North (5-21) then curtailed any challenge from the home side.

Thorpe Willoughby (82-3) returned to winning ways after a devastating spell from Dave Watson (7-19) dismissed Pocklington (78) cheaply before a quickfire knock from Jordan Leybourn (30) secured the points.

Division three saw home wins for Heslington (217-6) against Bolton Percy III (199-5) and Heworth (193-8) against Stamford Bridge (83).
