JAMES FORD has responded to speculation linking York City Knights star Sam Scott with a move to Beftred Championship rivals Bradford Bulls.
Scott has been a stand-out player for York in 2021 and played all of the last 11 games for the club.
The back-rower's form has, according to Rugby League Live, attracted the attention of Bradford who are set to bring him to Odsal for 2022.
York head coach Ford said: "I've not seen the story. Sam is a good player and is a handful with how he carries.
"So is Sam going to get some interest from other clubs? Of course, he is.
"Am I aware of if he has agreed a deal with another club or not at this minute in time? No, I'm not.
"I've known Sam a long time, I played with Sam and I've coached him for a number of years and he's a straight shooter.
"If he is leaving, I'm pretty sure that he will come and tell me. And if he does go, then I want him to finish the season by seeing the best version of Sam Scott, and I'm sure the supporters do. I'm sure that Sam will want that as well because he's a proud guy.
"But if he hasn't (agreed a deal elsewhere), which we're all hoping, then we'll move past it as another story."
