HUNTERS York & District Senior Cricket League division one east leaders Bridlington increased their advantage over the chasing pack with a convincing 122-run victory over relegation threatened Sutton-on-Hull.

Driffield Town went second with a 46-run win at Londesborough Park.

Patrington (278-6) declared inside 35 overs against Hornsea - and still won by 138 runs.

An unbroken fourth-wicket partnership of 142 between Nathan Saltmer (62 not out) and Neal Jackson (74no) put Pocklington in charge of their game against Cottingham after Dominic Rhodes (3-33) had removed the visitors’ top three batters.

Replying to a total of 214-3, Cottingham (192-9) avoided defeat only thanks to last-wicket pair Danny Moss and Jordan Yeomans, who saw off the final four overs.

Scarborough enjoyed an emphatic 10-wicket win at Beverley Town.

Woodhouse Grange had the better of a high-scoring draw against Hull Zingari (230-6).

Grange’s Tad Baty (108) scored his second century of the season and shared stands of 131 for the second wicket with Robert Draper (34) and 64 for the third alongside Tom Stubley (56).

All three were eventually dismissed by Jahangir Alam (4-97) only for Jonty Atkinson to score an unbeaten 45 to boost the total to 284-6.

Division one west’s fixture schedule was halved by the weather, which saw the local derby between high-fliers Harrogate and Knaresborough, second-placed Easingwold’s visit to Sessay and Osbaldwick’s trip to Thorp Arch & Boston Spa all called off.

Carlton Towers leapfrogged visitors Dringhouses (219-9) into fourth after a three-wicket win.

Tom Owen (59) and Daniel Snaith (28) put on 77 for Dringhouses’ and Jacob Green (48) ensured they passed 200 after Mark Spetch’s 4-50.
