YORK City Knights Ladies star Bettie Lambert has been named in the Ireland Rugby League training squad.
Lambert links up head coach John Whalley's squad after making a positive impression during trials in the UK last week.
She is one of 11 players from Women's Super League to be included.
A further 20 players will be added after trials in Ireland.
Whalley said: “I am delighted to name my first 20 players to be part of the Ireland Women’s Rugby League team.
"With some great experience and some fantastic youth involved, I’m looking forward to getting the group together now.
"It’s a real positive start moving into sorting the next 20 over in Ireland in the coming weeks. We can’t wait to get started.”
Lambert's call-up comes shortly after Knights players Grace Field turned out for England and Savannah Andrade featured for Jamaica in the rugby union sevens.
Kelsey Gentles, meanwhile, just missed out on being name in England's 17 for the Wales game.
