YORK Acorn ARLC sit fourth in National Conference League group ‘G’ after losing 40-0 at table-toppers West Hull.
The defeat leaves them level on points with but two places behind fierce local rivals Heworth.
Meanwhile, the Villages ‘A’ team lost 40-18 to a strong West Bowling Academy in Yorkshire Men’s League division three.
The Black and Whites trailed 28-8 at the break after conceding six first-half tries but with a much-improved second-half performance, they restricted their opponents to two touchdowns while registering a couple of their own in reply.
Heworth try-scorers were man-of-the-match Ricky James (2), Cam Taylor and Chris Borwell with Jake Atkinson slotting one conversion.
Next week, Heworth ‘A’ visit Wibsey Warriors the first team host Hull Dockers in NCL group ‘G’ looking for a third win in a row.
