YORK City Knights Ladies are out for revenge on Sunday when they square up to St Helens in the Women's Super League.

The sides last met two weeks ago in the Challenge Cup final, when Saints ended York's dreams of lifting the trophy by deservedly triumphing 34-6 over the new-look Knights outfit.

There has been no playing action for either side in the intervening period. A handful of Saints players were required to self-isolate in the days following their celebrations after one of their players tested positive for Covid.

That put paid to Saints' derby fixture with Wigan Warriors, scheduled for last Sunday.

A York player was also identified by track and trace as a potential contact and therefore needed to self-isolate.

However, that had no impact on the Knights' scheduled fixture against Wakefield Trinity at the weekend - though that did not ahead as it was not possible to raise the necessary level of medical cover at the Mobile Rocket Stadium. Wakefield's ground was also due to host Castleford Tigers against league leaders Leeds Rhinos as part of a double-header that day.

It is hoped these fixtures will be rearranged next month.

Tomorrow, York are heading back to the Mobile Rocket Stadium to face Saints again, kicking off at 3.30pm.

The Knights have not really had a chance to spread their league wings under new director of rugby Lindsay Anfield yet as the majority of fixtures she has overseen have come in the cup run.

York won 42-14 at Featherstone Rovers a fortnight after her appointment before narrowly going down 20-18 to her former side Castleford Tigers two weeks on, leaving the Knights with two points from three games.

Saints are one of four outfits with a perfect record. They sit fourth with six points from their opening trio of fixtures, having scored an almighty 230 points and conceded just six.
