BEN JONES-BISHOP will miss York City Knights' 1895 Cup semi-final clash with Swinton Lions through injury.

The winger picked up an abductor strain injury in York's 37-18 defeat to Bradford Bulls in the Betfred Championship last weekend and misses out on Sunday's (2pm) game as a result.

Brendan O'Hagan is also doubtful of playing due to injury while Jordan Baldwinson picked up concussion against the Bulls.

York are also monitoring Tim Spears (calf problem), who trained on Tuesday.

“I know that’s three issues there, but we didn’t lose the (Bradford) game because of that," said Knights head coach James Ford, "we had enough ability out there for us to get through. But on the day Bradford deserved it."

Last week, the Knights loaned out Tyme Dow-Nikau to North Wales Crusaders, a decision which raised some eyebrows among York fans, given that the centre had played the previous match against Oldham.

Ford explained: "It just felt like at this minute in time that he is not quite at the level of Ryan (Atkins) and Liam (Salter).

“We think that Tyme has got potential, he’s a very big and powerful player who catches the eye with some of the things that he does.

“But, in my opinion, he needs to play a little bit more so that he can tidy up in one or two areas and we can get a clearer picture of where he is at because ultimately we haven’t seen him play too much.

“In this division, if you don’t play well, you get beat. So we need to make sure that we understand exactly where Tyme is at.”
