BEN GODFREY has made his senior England debut.
The 23-year-old former York City star came on as a substitute after the hour mark during England's 1-0 friendly win over Austria.
Godfrey was named in Gareth Southgate's provisional 33-man squad for Euro 2020 and has been preparing with the squad but has not been made the cut for the final 26-man squad.
On Instagram, a social media site, Everton defender Godfrey posted a picture of himself in action for the Three Lions alongside a baby photo with an England shirt and signed York City ball captioned: "England debut, a moment I've dreamt of my whole life."
In a notable moment at the Riverside Stadium, he gave goalkeeper and Toffees team-mate Jordan Pickford something to think about with a misplaced back-pass that sent the shot-stopper scrambling to prevent an own goal.
Godfrey could be involved again with England on Sunday when they take on Romania in another friendly.
