A VOTE of no confidence in the National League's chairman and board has failed.
It has been reported that 33 clubs in the National League's North and South divisions voted for the motion, which had no support in the top tier.
As Step 2 votes count as four per division, the motion was easily overwhelmed by the 21 votes against from the 23 Step 1 clubs, whose votes tally as one per team.
Eight Step 2 clubs voted against the motion, with two North division sides abstaining.
There were two abstentions in the National League and none in the South tier.
York City were not expected to support the original motion proposed by Maidstone United and Dorking Wanderers in response to widespread discontent from clubs over funding during a Covid-ravaged season, among other disputes.
