TADCASTER Albion are set to host Huddersfield Town as one of six arranged pre-season friendlies.

Championship side Huddersfield are due to visit Ings Lane on Saturday, July 3.

The following Saturday, the Brewers will welcome Newcastle Blue Star of the Step 7 competition Northern Football Alliance premier division.

National League North side Spennymoor Town will visit on Saturday, July 24 and Northern Premier League premier division outfit Ashton United will head to the Global Stadium for July 31.

Taddy visit Garforth Town on July 27.

Albion report that manager Paul Quinn is in discussions for “a few more” games to boost his side’s fitness levels and give the squad time to gel after their Northern Premier League north/west division season was cut short.

Meanwhile, ‘early bird’ Brewers season tickets have gone on sale for the coming 2021/22 campaign.

If purchased before August 14, when the new season is expected to kick off, adult prices will be £125, concessions (over-65s and students) £80 and juniors (ages six to 17) £17.

After August 14, prices rise to £135, £88 and £20, respectively. On-the-gate tickets cost £9 for adults, £6 for concessions and £3 for juniors. Under-5s go in free.

There is a sense of intrigue surrounding next season at Taddy’s level as it is the Northern Premier League who will govern a newly-created division at Step 4 as part of plans to make the National League System a pure pyramid.

It is anticipated that the new division will make the Northern Premier League a more regional competition and eliminate travel across the Pennines, for example, for midweek matches, which can be a strain on part-time players.

Taddy and Pickering Town, who also play at Step 4, both await news on which Step 5 clubs will be accepted into their league and how their division will look.

It has been confirmed that, next season, Leeds United Women will play their home games at the Global Stadium.
