YORK City Knights youngster AJ Towse has joined Coventry Bears on a season-long loan.
The 17-year-old is signed on at the Knights until 2023 after having been on community dual-registration terms with Heworth ARLC.
He made his debut, and so far only, appearance for the Knights in the Challenge Cup against Wigan Warriors last month.
Director of rugby at League One outfit Bears, Alan Robinson, said: “I have been in conversations with Jon Flatman at York for a number of months around some player developments.
“Unfortunately we have a number of injuries at the moment so the time was right to give AJ this opportunity and bring him in.
“He is described as an out-and-out winger and has been developing with the Knights under James Ford after coming on dual-registration from Heworth for the past two years.
“He is the fastest player in York’s squad so I’m looking forward to seeing what he can offer us on the field in League One.”
