YORK City Knights have boosted the strength of their pack with the loan signing of Yusuf Aydin from Wakefield Trinity.
The 20-year-old forward arrives on an initial two-week deal which can be extended.
Aydin made his Super League debut for Wakefield last season against Hull FC, and his international bow for Turkey in 2019 against Malta.
He is contention for Sunday's Championship fixture against Sheffield Eagles at the LNER Community Stadium (7.30pm).
Head coach James Ford - who was the Turkey international's form teacher during his last year at Wakefield College - said: "He’s always shown a pretty solid attitude towards learning and he is a tough, uncompromising middle who brings some aggression to the team."
On signing with the Knights, Aydin added: "I’m here to get some more game time and experience. I want to learn off these lads and, hopefully, they can learn a bit from me as well.
“I had Fordy as a teacher and, if his coaching is anything like that, he’s just straight and direct with you as well as wanting the best for you.”
