YORK boxer George Davey will make his return to the ring on April 24 on another major televised bill.

Davey will feature on the undercard to the middleweight clash between Denzel Bentley and Felix Cash, who fight for the British and Commonwealth 160lb titles.

The card will be shown live on BT Sport at London's York Hall.

Davey, who has won all of his three professional fights to date, takes on Stoke's Jamie Stewart over six rounds.

Stewart earned a surprise draw with the unbeaten Matchroom prospect Florian Marku in December and defeated Michael Hennessy Jr, also unbeaten, in the fight before that.

Having overcome ex-regional title challenger Jeff Thomas in his last fight, the contest represents another sizable step-up for Davey.

The 23-year-old, who is promoted by Hall of Famer Frank Warren and managed and trained by York boxing legend Henry Wharton, will also compete in the welterweight division for the first time, having solely campaigned at super welterweight previously.
