NATIONAL League clubs believe they have enough numbers to request an extraordinary general meeting.

Seventeen sides (25 per cent of the league) supported the proposal to host an EGM at which they plan to hold a no-confidence vote in the chairman and board.

The league - whose chairman Brian Barwick has announced he will stand down at the end of the season - are to meet today, it is understood.

Clubs also hope to discuss how to resolve "issues of governance".
