A DETAILED proposal for a supplementary competition at Step 2 will be up for consideration tomorrow when the FA Alliance Committee meet.
Following the declaration of a null and void 2020/21 season for National League North and South divisions, a group of 18 clubs - York City included - put their names to a letter urging the league to consider allowing teams that want to continue playing and push for promotion to Step 1.
The proposal, which has now been submitted to the FA, contains details of a combined North and South competition. It is believed that teams will be able to opt out - as a few sides have already done - or in before it commences.
Sides will play each other once, it has been reported, with one team going up automatically and one via play-offs.
Any decision will require ratification from the FA Council.
Concord Rangers, Havant & Waterlooville and Kettering Town are three teams to have all explicitly said they will not take part in any extra competition.
