NORTHERN Superchargers have retained Australian white-ball captain Aaron Finch ahead of this summer's inaugural edition of The Hundred.

Finch had been due to play for the Superchargers last year, when the competition was due to launch, before the new cricketing venture was postponed amid the pandemic.

The Australian superstar, formerly of Yorkshire, is one of seven signings to be announced by Northern.

Australia international batsman Chris Lynn and Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman are the other two overseas additions while Middlesex wicketkeeper John Simpson and bowler Brydon Carse of Durham will also feature for the men's side.

Superchargers will have five picks for February 23's men's Draft.

In the women's competition, the Superchargers have secured a pair of England bowlers, in Ben Langston and Linsey Smith, for the 2021 season.

Women's teams can continue to sign players until June, while the men's retention window is now shut.

No date has yet been given for the start of The Hundred.
